Ok peeps, heres the symptoms....

....been getting a funny smell lately which I originally thought may have been a minor oil leak, burning off etc. but could never find a leak.....smell was evident both inside the car via heater outlets and also from drivers side bonnet vent .

Then I remembered a similar problem a few years back on a previous car which stemmed back to the heater matrix.

So, today I went to work and kept the heaters on cold....no smell inside the car and no smell from the bonnet vent .

Switch heaters on....smell returns .

Heater matrix or not???????

Oh dear......think I found the cause of the smell today....bit embarrasing really....

Was having a fiddle around under the bonnet and noticed a dried up residue just below the top radiator hose.

Minor coolant leak, landing on hot engine equals my funny smell.

Tightened hose clip up and hopefully its cured.

Must get my eyes tested this week....lol
