I own a 1275 gt mini and want to know how to get the ******* sideways in a hurry round bends with out using the handbrake???????????????

My mini turbo could be coaxed into a sideways slide by backing off then turning sharply into the corner as you come back on the power, only really worked in the wet though, the 175/50 13" Bridgestones just gripped too much in the dry!

Trail braking, i.e. light braking all the way to the apex unsticks the back nicely on a mini, then gas it hard to pull it round. Be careful, though, they're short and snappy!

Wouldn't you flip Minis easily? I would try to do that if I were you. But if you still want to, throttle lift, harder rear tires (i.e. high tire pressure), stiffer rear sway bar, etc. all mayb help you.

I rally a mini and have no trouble getting it sideways.
As has been said before, either lift of oversteer - lift of throttle quickly and maybe turn in sharply, or:
Left foot braking, which is what i do, it is much more controlable and if done correctly makes you faster unlike above.
basically as you are going roud the corner, keep on the throttle and use your left foot on the brake. - harder brake = more sideway.
When you get used to it you can use the throttle and brake together to balance the car perfectly.
Just be careful when and where you practice.
Mark.
