I'm looking at getting some mud flaps, not sure which ones I should be looking at ?
I know what colour/logo etc I want just now sure if there's some better than others ? Is there any I should avoid ? I've been looking at scoobyworld for some, I know I don't want mini ones, does anyone have pictures of there's fitted and what sizes they are etc ?

Rally Armour will be a well known brand / website.

 

I have rally armour on my hatch and they fit perfectly and look very professional.

no drilling either as they fit with the made brackets etc

Set i ordered where poor fitting and when i contacted them they didnt want to know. Complete waste of time and customer service is poor

rally armour only do black but they will fit without any drilling.....

I opted for plain black flaps and bought the chrome decals from ebay.

The two self tappers at the far left of the fixing bracket are where you need to drill (furthest into the arch - now covered in waxoyl to protect from the elements):

Difference is about £40-50, and the premiums are made from a much stiffer material (which might not be too good if you clip your flaps whilst mounting a curb or travelling over higher than average speed humps etc.).

I'm very happy with the standard Scoobyworld mudflaps (which come with a lifetime guarantee - see their website for details).

 

Or reversing of drive with deep snow on the ground as i found out one year

Same from me. Good flaps and service from Performance Creations. .
Even sent me out a spare bracket and plenty of screws to replace one of mine when some pillock tried to kick off one of the front flaps in an asda car park.

 

all I will add to this is that performance creation flaps are not in the same league as the rally armour ones and I know this as I have a brand new set sat in my garage and when I tried to fit them to my hatch on the back they went on and with hardly any pressure I pulled them straight back off and when I spoke to them I go no real answers from them and for the fronts to fit it would have meant drilling into the bodywork of my car where as the rally armour ones fitted into the holes already on my car both front and back and have been on there 6 months plus and haven't moved even a mill.

I cannot vouch for the rallytech ones as Tim told me that for those to fit my hatch I would have had to drill bodywork hence why I went with the rally armour ones and I am glad I did

if anyone wants the flaps for a wrx hatch they can make me an offer as that would clear them out of my garage...lol

 

Not the case at all with mine, fit perfectly, very well presented, very happy with them.

 

I'm really set on getting some blue ones, what's so bad about this drilling ? I have a blobeye, where am I drilling and are they going to be secure ? As long as I seal the drilled area nothing is going to rust or anything ?

why drill if you don't have to is my point.... yes you can seal the holes but just supposing the drill snaps or you slip with it then you have a paint job or worse to repair or go with the rally armour ones and fit them with no drilling

the only thing is that rally armour do not do blue ones

I would also add if you put the rally armour ones next to the performance creation ones there are no comparisons not only in quality but solidity as well... I clean mine when I do my car and front and back of the flaps look as good as when they were fitted

 

Mine are on a blob too, drinking is only one tiny hole in the chassis leg as per the pictures above (same idea) the rest all fits with factory pish fit plastic fittings (provided in the kit) you wing have any issues with these flaps on a blob 👍

 

The drilled hole is no where near any paintwork? It's in the chassis leg miles deep in the wheel arch.
You'd have to be pretty useless to make an *** of it to be honest.
I machine metal for a living, so am an expert on drilling, not going to be a problem for me, but for the typical pen pusher it might pose a problem. (Then again if you can't drill a tiny hole in your chassis leg don't even attempt to jack the car up and take off the wheel!)

 

the point I was making is why drill if you can get a superior product that will fit without drilling...

rally armour flaps come with a metal adaptor plate that you hammer on and screw the flap into that which is very strong and secure....I have had no issues on my hatch with them since I fitted them and they look very good as they are nice and wide as well and the logo on them is not too pronounced so they look cheap and tacky

I've got them in black on mine, been on 8 years now and still look like new, obviously they're more expensive than some of the other manufacturers mentioned already but they're definitely good quality and fit.

 

Couldnt agree more. Avoid performance creations. Much better suppliers that offer better quality.

 

you sure you fitted the rears right? Mine wouldn't come off without a load of tugging and also the bolts/nuts removed.
I know as I've had to take them off when I swapped the the 4mm thick ones


and drilling four small holes is hardly drilling your body work to fit the fronts (you drill two holes into the plastic of the side trim) I've worse holes drilled where the dealer fitted the hideous OE mud flaps





and for £70 I'm happy. I've known ppl import sets and pay £200 :crazy:
