We've suggested these to a number of customers, who have all replied to us with great results. Generally they have gained about 30 horsepower and sometimes as much as 45 Ft Lbs of torque. All for about 650 quid. On early cars, where remapping choice is limited, this is a really good solution and we have no hesitation in recommending it. We don't fit them ourselves, we don't have the facilities. But if you care to ring me l'll suggest some places who do.

I had one fittrd to an STI 3 by Powerstation, did about 45K with it - no problems and very good bang per buck, especially if you have a free flowing exhaust fitted

Cheers

Have you seen the waiting list for Scoobyecu??

Don't know about VOS.

G Force Aylesbury can do a Unichip within a week most times.

How does it compare to a GEMS and Apexi?
Is the cost of gems v others really worth it when chasing 350 bhp/320 lbft?

Graham, good to see you this morning !

The Unichip has limitations and cannot be compared to any of the 'proper' management systems. To be flexible with what you do, I'd expect you'd need a 'proper' system. Have a chat to Andy F orrest on here who specialises with Apexi, which might offer a solution to you. There is, I believe, a possibility that you will be able to run different maps, selectable by you, for different hills and also road use.

At £650 for a Unichip it will represent good power improvements for the expenditure. However for not a lot more money an Apexi Power F.C. will give greater gains and increased flexibility in terms of modding as it is fully mapable ECU. Try Andy Forrest amongst others for a price, fitted and mapped. He brings them in from Japan and occassionally has a secondhand bargain.

Chaps: Have contacted Andy, and it sounds the FC is the Right Stuff.
A friend had GEMS on his 97 StiRA and it drove really well, but cost £2K.....911

Enjoyed the visit to API David, very confident about the result coming my way!
