induction kit fitted - question
i just fitted a simota cone filter in to my MY99 impreza turbo (along with a new MAF sensor which has now become a serviceable part for me!). now the question i have is the old air box used to suck in air from a hole between the engine bay and the right front wheel arch. should i cover/plug up this unused hole now or just leave it open?

Mine was left in place when the dealership fitted my ind kit to my MY99 if this helps.
FYI i am sure you have but - do check it is mounted securely and airtight on the seal.

any body get any other advice? will this hole bring in cool air or suck out hot air or what? what about the other 'U' shaped plastic bit just ahead of it with a hole in the bottom? what does this do?
my car makes SO many noises now! whooooosh induction on acceleration, gruuuuunt exhaust on accelaration and whoooosh dump on gear change! sounds more like a rave than a car!

I have one fitted on my MY00 (by the previous owner). On my car the bottom of the standard air filter housing has been left intact and the hole open. This will still channel some cooler air to the induction kit so leave it open. I'm not sure about the other "U shaped plastic bit just ahead of it", would have to look at my engine to see what you mean!
How much was your MAF sensor?
