UK cars pre 2000 needed cambelt change at 45k and after MY00 it was 60k - depends on chassis number I think. Also fluids, filters, sparks, etc need changing along with cambelt. Sorry, not familiar with Jap cars. One of the specialist companies should be able to help you though.

Thumbs up

I'd get it done ASAP as they are suppose to be changed after 45k miles as stated already.. also bear in mind that the belt is now 8years old mate!!

Might be worth getting the front crank seal changed too as although they seem to go with miles (at 100k on mine) they are effected by age too. It is only a few pence for the seal and lots of labour but nothing if you already have the cambelt off!

Should cost you about 450 to 500 pounds.. for a 45k cambelt service.. not sure which you will be having at 60k though..

450 to 500 for a cambelt service!? Wow... how much is it if you get it done outside of the Ferrari dealership chain?

Okay so I must have got conned twice then..

Paid 450 and 475 for two 45,000miles services....

That included but was not only the cambelt change.

My local specialist will change a cambelt for £45 + parts. (OK, that's not including the front oil seal, but he'll do that if you ask.)

Ive read these posts b4 with people mentioning stupid prices like £450 for a cambelt 'service', service must be the keyword! Last I checked my local Import Garage did a cambelt change for £120-£150 (cant remember exactly) which included the belt, Subaru of course. You need to ask them what kind of 'service' they are giving your to your car for the excess £300??
Try and do it yourself and if you really dont want to do the belt then give it to a Garage that will do it for the 'right' price and change the oils (Engine,Gearbox,Diff) Spark Plugs and filters yourself. Give yourself the £300 and a pat on the back.

It had a cam belt change at around 45,000 so is there any need to change it again?

some of you guys are paying next to nought for labour!
MY99 recent cambelt replacement due to leaky front crank seal, I was told the belt alone (subaru of course) cost £110.

(Did'nt worry me 'cause it was done under warranty.)
