Stephen.
Don't know if this helps but I had a mis-fire on my 01 PPP + Full decat. It turned out to be the exhaust gas temperature sensor that had failed. The flames had toasted it.
50.00 fitted and no problems since.

did you take extra care when fitting the up pipe as the sensor is easily damaged
that would account for the problems you have
not saying you have damaged it ~ just thats its possible as its a difficult job to do ya self
or did you get a garage to fit it
get the EGT sensor changed and see how it goes

one trial you could do is to put some lower temperature sparks. this should help the petrol to be burnt much better thus avoiding misfires and detonations outside the combustion chamber.

Decat exhaust should AFAIK be cooler than the standard exhaust.
Don't quote me on that though.
I've just checked and the EGT fault code you have was the same as mine.
