Default Anyone know some good software to convert avi to DVD

Looking for something that can take a film length avi file and convert it to DVD. Something thats simple and gets the job done fast, and can automatically create all the .vob files and menus simply.

I don't want to use Nero as that is such a faff, I don't need complex menus or anything like that. I just want the avi file to play as a DVD file.

I used to use WinAVI, but that is not running well on my Vista install atm, so I need something else.

Playing around with this one atm, when I select DVD profile it just outputs as an mpg. How does that get onto a DVD that a normal DVD player can play? Your still left to master the DVD?

Will have to try that too. I never normally use any std windows tools as they are usually shockingly awful. Maybe its time to give them a chance and give them a whirl.

I'm just annoyed that my WinAVI has packed up on Vista. It always hated the Aero interface, so I used to run it in basic and it was fine...but even that is not enough now

Been using this for a while and the free version doesn't leave a watermark just a title screen at the start of the movie.

I don't bother writing to disc, just have a media HDD connected to the TV/AV set-up. Would like to replace it with a Mac Mini though.

Agreed, although finances don't run to that atm. In fact, I don't even have a DVD player Only reason I am burning a couple is for when I pop around to my mates
