Unhappy I-Tunes Music Files

Hey All,

Is there any way I can convert I-Tunes stuff I have bought to mp3 format, so we can use the 'old' mp3 player.

There seems to be a button, (bottom right on the I-Tunes browser), which gives the option to 'Burn to CD as MP3'). Every time I press this is tells me the songs are not in mp3 format so cannot be burned.

I've changed the preferences to always burn as mp3 and not any other format, but after 2 hours of messing around I've admitted defeat!!

So, any ideas please?

Cheers

blubs

It's not a tab, it's in General, the first tab. iTunes 8.

Import settings is in there regardless of iTunes version or the platform it's running on.

It used to be in:
Preferences -> Advanced -> Importing

Jack is quite right, they have changed the location for iTunes 8. On the General tab that appears when you open the prefs, look for the "When you insert a CD" option, and you'll see there is an "Import Settings…" option, clicking this will give you access to the import options. These settings will be used regardless of how you import the music, be it ripping it from CD, or using the import option.
