Default ADSL 2

Getting upgraded next week, anyone else had this, was getting 4/5 meg and they have said I will get nearer 7, will I notice much difference ?

Anyone else got it ?

It depends on the length and the quality of the line from the exchange.

Don't accept the number you get out the box, I was getting 5.5 on first connection, after a few weeks and a couple of tweaks at my end and theirs, I get a solid 9.5.

My mate gets 17-18 meg on Be.

I get a sync of over 17mb on Be and if I'm downloading a popular torrent that does equate to it peaking at an amazing 1.7mb/s.

my 8meg BE is faster than my brother's 24meg BE! it's all about distance to the exchange.

I currently get 27.5Mbps download I'm trialling a new bonded service over 4 different ISP's

If I could get ADSL2+ speeds then it could be 68Mbps download if each circuit was like boxst's

Distance plays its part, though you could be next to the exchange and get less than the guy 2 miles down the road, cables play a big part for that, so does the ammount of users you have on your DSLAM, but in theory you "should" see an improvement
