Question

ADSL, two pc's on network, both running XP and using XP ICS.

Problem is it dial's up when it feels like it. I know it's not costing me (ADSL) but I don't like the idea it just does what it want's. Been through both machines looking at any apps that may cause this to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

Probably, the machines are just broadcasting on the network to either say "here I am" or "who's there?" every so often.

Why don't you just put explorer in the startup group with 'connect automatically' set? I just leave one machine connected all the time and rarely have to reboot it.
