Anyone help i have Mcafee anti-virus but its crap and i have a Trojan/virus thing called Ultimate Cleaner and i need a free spyware/anti-virus package to get rid of it!

Now i'm not being a cheapskate because i would pay for one as i've found one that will get rid of this crap but i dont want to put my credit card details on the computer whilst i have something like this!

avast! antivirus software - computer virus, worm and Trojan protection by ALWIL Software - its free for personal use and its actually very good!

I use this over McAfee.

If not, try the online scan from BitDefender

zone alarms security suite is by far the best you can get for XP

or, if your on vista get kaspersky internet security

i use avast and have done for about 4 years now without problem.
installed zone alarm and then removed it a week later , thought it was a big pile o' poo

I recommend lavasoft to remove spyware. - lavasoft.de

I've used both for years without any probs.... Zone Alarm as a firewall & Kaspersky for antivirus, both on XP
