i need to format my laptop but the internal drive does not work. i use external is it still possible. help please

if i format the pc how do i boot up without having the driver installed for external disc drive. all i need to do is wipe everything off, is there another way

if you mean internal hard drive then you will need to replace that before doing anything else if its broken

If it's Windows XP then it should come with a built in driver to look at external Mass Storage Devices.

but when i go into bios it asks me where to boot from and e drive is not an option. yes it is xp

sorry i'm totally lost here

so the laptop will not boot up, if the internal hard drive is broke then it needs replacing

to boot from an external drive is possible (even a usb pen is possible) but formatting a broken hard drive will not work

the hard drive works is is the cdrom that does not work
