Gary,

Get the Apple HiFi, its far superior than the Bose systems according to Macuser Reviews.

I am buying one soon, was looking in the Apple shop in the Trafford Centre and switched one onto play, only the volume was set to full blast. JESUS it was loud, and i was quite suprised that there was no distortion! Bloody pooed myself!!!

They look smart too, very heavy tho!!

You must go and listen to both and decide for yourself - make sure you take your own iPod and listen to your music.

If you want portability, then the Apple's the one for you as it'll run off batteries. Have a look at the Altec Lansing as well - it gets great reviews on the Apple website.

Cheers

I'm also contemplating what to get .... I like the original Tivoli one as well. Great sound from one speaker!

Working for MacWarehouse I've heard lots of different systems and have not been overly impressed by the Apple or Bose products.

We have had a few systems in house by Altec Lanseng but by far the best I have ever heard were made by Klipsch.

They are not cheap but if you want a proper home hifi quality sound thats the way I'd go.

I won a JBL On Stage II on Thursday when MacWarehouse won the MacWorld resller of the year for the 8th time in a row, so that was quite handy. Sound is good but lacking in heavy base that I like.

That said Bose are the smartest marketers as they are the only ones to offer a 30 day trial, the old puppy dog sales technique.
