One reason i never wanted an Iphone was because it seemed to be a mindless sheep following thing, prefer Android in many ways, but Iphone offers more control over your phone thats only reason i stick with them, if Andriod offered that i'd jump ship.

Plus i'm not one for looking for the latest model, i buy my mates old phones for cheap

To me a phone is just a phone, as long as it does the things i need it to do i don't really care what brand it is as long as it isn't Apple.

Most of the people i know who have an iphone are obsessed with them, everything else is rubbish in comparison according to them. It's great watching the isheep trying to defend their phones even when a lot of the time they are wrong, you'd think that some of em are married to their phones.

 

But everything else is rubbish, can't say I've found come across anything that was a better all round package than the iPhone.

 

These people don't care about the product, they're too wrapped up hating anything Apple. It's ridiculous.

 

Exactly, preferences are entirely subjective, why people have to defend them to the point of having a slanging match is beyond me! Both Apple and Android (and any other platform) have their pluses and minuses! I prefer Apple stuff........ for now and I'm certainly no iSheep

Tbh I'm disappointed with the latest batch of software upgrades though.......

 

I can see why you might be disappointed, it's hard to see the changes, I keep finding them and I've been using beta's.

Two of the changes in OSX Mail I only used last night, tabbed messages and the ability to minimise the messages when in full screen. My other favourite is split screen, having a web browser and a terminal full screen is super handy.

 

As for having to defend them, it's very hard not to defend your choices when they're being attacked. Imagine walking into the pub and not being asked how your day was rather being told your car is ****. There's a huge difference between defending and attacking.

 

But you do the same thing, you just infer it as opposed to saying it explicitly.

 

here here, i totally agree ive tried and failed, IPhone and Ipad just do what i need with no hassle, and for the 8 years ive owned them, only once has one gone mad and that was my sons, cos he dropped it.

I have a ipad and think its great. The only annoying
thing about apple for me is the constant updates which
attempt to render your phone/ipad useless.

Example, I wanted to download a quite basic app from the app
store but it says I need to update to ios8pointsomething just
to get the app.

 

I don't think the updates are an attempt to make your iPad worse, they fix bugs, make them more secure and allow them to run the latest apps.

The other side of the fence where you're unlikely to get an update is far worse.

 

Thats all because the app is designed to run with that version of OS. If you've not upgraded then you can't run the app.

Its a bit like having (extreme example) windows 95 and expecting it to run a programme designed to run on Windows 10! Not only does the OS and hardware progress forward so do the apps/programs!

 

See now per device I could understand, if I said the ipad is ****, you could say no I have an ipad, they are awesome, but with Fanboys and anti-apple people it's the brand.

Using you as an example, you constantly defend the brand as being amazing, ignoring the negative press (such as child labour) and focusing on the overpriced products)

Again, personally I think the ipad is the *****, we have three in my house and the windows tablet I bought never gets touched. Apple however, is a greedy manipulative bunch of *******s. Doing things like changing the charger in my mind is just pure greed.

 

Prime example. Who's lead should Apple follow regarding chargers? We're taking about 1 change of charger in a decade, so who hasn't changed their charger in 10 years?

If the EU has its way all mobile phones will have micro usb. All phones by 2017 will be compelled. What remains to be seen if apple will charge you for the adapter. I doubt apple will capitulate and use micro usb but continue using their own designs whatever that might be in a couple of years

I very much doubt they'd downgrade. They'll use USB-C and so will everyone else.

 

Do they knowingly exploit? Doubtful Is it possible that some exploitation happen? Definitely. Is there an electronics company that's done more to eliminate it? Show me.
