Default Anyone know anything about Monitors

Anyone know anything about Monitors?

I have an Iiyama ProLite E481S, just over two years old.

A couple of weeks ago it just went off, I switched everything off for about an hour and when I switched on again, it came back on.

Same thing happened about a week ago.

Last night it went off and I cannot get it back on again.

Any suggestions?

Jen

Sounds like a dry solder joint on one of the components, when the component heats up it loses connection. May need a re-solder if you know where to look. Either way sounds something electronic and heat related.

Sounds like the power supply has had it. I'm assuming that is a flat panel?

If its an external power brick, it shouldn't bee too hard to find a replacement.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a new panel than to get this one fixed. Actually, you said it was 2 years old? Is it still under warranty? Some have 3 years..

Don't Iiyama give a 3 year warranty with monitors?

John.

Think those monitors are now discontinued, replaced with the 431 IIRC which according to reviews are not so good.
A client of mine has about 7 of them and they have been excellent although they may only be about 2 maybe 3 years old. They go on at 9am and switch off at 6pm, 6 days a week all year round. No real advice though, sorry.
HHxx - Yep, they are flat panel but its a kettle lead straight into the back.
jpor sounds right.

Unless you can get it repaired under warranty....dont bother

go for a new one, or go for a TFT.

They have a 3 year onsite warranty provided by Iiyama. Usually this is in the form of a swap out - they send a new one, you send the old one back in the same box via a pre-paid carrier.

Get your model number, serial number & proof of purchase & call: 0870 224 9595

It is a flat panel, with kettle lead. Leads are not the problem.

Will give them a call tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Iiyama are brilliant, what more can I say. Just phoned them. They are sending me a new monitor tomorrow and I have to give the delivery man the broken one.
