Mobo help (recomendation)
I'm creating a shopping list for my pc. But I need help choosing a mobo. I am after a fast stable machine, not a gamer. I intend using my current CPU (1800 XP athlon) so am looking for a mobo that can use this 1 but take something higher when I blow it, and I will, as its currently running overclocked.
I have already chosen my new PSU, memory and graphics card. Everything else I have in this pc.
Cheers
Simon

I bought an Asus A7n8X- deluxe that seems to be very stable and highly thought of by many (flame suit on).
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe SKTA NVNorce2ST ATX 8xAGP Giga LAN, SATA, Firewire, 6 channel Audio, USB2 Dual chan. DDR +WiFi slot (up to DDR400)
Here is the Asus link
http://www.asus.com/products/mb/sock...d/overview.htm
It also gets a 4.5 star rating on Ebuyer from 100 buyers.

You won't be sorry

If you are into O/C - I second Meridian...
I bought an Abit AN7 on his recommendation! - very happy with it £65 @ www.ebuyer.co.uk you can can use 'uguru' to change FSB and update BIOS and all sorts of stuff from within Windows...
All the stuff you need on board too, Firewire, LAN, 4x USB ports, 8x AGP, 5.1 Audio, SATA - (pretty little LEDs to show power-connected and power-on on MOBO - worth it just for those!)
Athlon XP2400 only gets to 146MHz though... (No voltage change or temps start going up...)
Brill!

I'm not into overclocking, but for me its a cheap way of getting a it of extra performance. Funnily enough, I have just been given a new chip the same as the 1 I'm runnign now. As I didn't know what I'm doing (I didn't do the setup on this 1, I just built it then a mate o/c'd it for me). Can anyone tell me what I can safly run a 1800XP athlon to and how to do it, I know you have to fiddle with the bus speeds and cpu voltages. I have a cooler the sise of a coke can, I might as well use it.
