Samsung ML-7050 networked laser printer gets a paper jam on every print attempt (so is unuseable). As far as I can see, the paper path is clear.

It's about 5 years old - is it worth getting it repaired/serviced or is a replacement a better option?

Recommendations welcome.

Is the paper dry? We used to have a photocopier that scrunched every sheet of paper up if it wasn't perfectly dry.

Have you tried different paper? The same copier also preferred scrunching some brands of paper more than others.

I've tried several different batches of paper - all the same result. However, on closer inspection I think one or more of the rollers may have a flat spot as I can hear it clicking as it turns.

Depends where it's jamming. Could be the paper feed rollers or even the fuser/drum unit. We had a LaserJet that did exactly the same thing and I replaced all the rollers and it still did it. Needed a new fuser unit in the end.

Seems to be after the paper has passed through the developer/fuser and is on its way into the output/duplex area

as a replacement. Seems a good price for colour laser. Anyone used one? Good/bad points

Yeah, but look at the consumable costs. It takes 3 colour toner carts + black. Could be looking at £200 - £300 for replacements

We have a £500 Epson C900 colour @ work and carts are £75 each (black's only £36). Damn expensive. Makes colour copying look cheap

Just a thought, our local repair centre charges £30 to look at a printer and give a report of the fault. Might be worth trying that first; at least you'll have an idea of what the actual repair costs will be.
