Default LCD Displays...

In light of having no search function.. I will ask what has probably been asked dozens of times before...

Which 17" LCD/TFT display is worth looking at?
Ideally the cheaper the better (big surprise-not)
Needs good text definition and run up to 1280*1024 and refresh of 75HZ+

Any ideas? Had a look at delatime.co.uk and my head now hurts with so much info.. how to sort the wheat from the chaff.. ??

all help appreciated!

I bought a Sony HS53/SDM today,15 inch at £260.They do a 17 in version.
Dont ask me about any tech info, basically the pic was tops(in the shop anyway) and it had a bit of style about it.
Worth looking at imo.

That respose time looks awful to me Burr. If that site is correct, then the screen has a total response time of 35ms! Not good for anything involving quick moving images etc

Wink

Try e-buyer blow out deals section - warranty repairs etc that means you can get decent 17" TFT with good refresh (no trails) for 15" money.

www.scan.co.uk do some regular good deals on 17's .. My advice would be to try to get one with a DVI input and upgrade to a graphics card with DVI output ..
The pic quality and stability is fantastic . If you spend a long time in front of them get the best you can ... Your eyes you cannot replace (well not at the moment anyway ......)

scan.co.uk are very expensive. There own brand ram is nearly twice the price of ebuyers (like for like) and this was in 24hr offers.

Mine blurrs when i scroll down the page.
LCD's are not just thin CRT's.They are a whole different experience imo.

Using an NEC 1760NX right now at work. All I can say is it's ace

Native resolution is 1280x1024. Not sure they're particularly cheap though

30ms is not regarded as a fast response time Paul. 25 is acceptable with 20ms in a few cases and 16ms being the closest to true lag free images.

Anything above 25 I do not regard as a good response time for anything multimedia related.

Graz, I too have a LCD1760NX. I have no such problems with lag scrolling web pages etc, unlike a lot of the lcd's on the market.
