I'm was up for building a PC Mp3 Jukebox, with a redundant computer, seem to remember someone who uses this forum had done this and installed it in their car but can't remember the link to their website, can anyone else.
Or can anyone advise on the use of a LCD screen instead of a Monitor and some sort of keypad.
Has anyone got any experiece interfacing an LCD Display to a P.C using the parallel port?

Just to point out... The CD Mp3 players (I have one, it's great) hold 10hrs of music to one cd. So unless you're doing the PC route for fun or for loads of storage, I wouldn't bother.

yep, I've done it.
The Linux Incar Mp3 Player (limp)
You need: 1 P90 mobo or above, 1 PSU, 1 LCD (from Matrix Orbital makes it easy), 1 hard drive...
Maplins have inverters for 20 quid now, which should sort the PSU.
Drop me a mail if you want more info,.
Nick.

SiDHEaD Cheers for the links - Yeah its kinda just for the hell of it, plus I was really going to do it for Home use with LCD and Key Pad - with maybe the thought of installing in a Car later.
Chiark thats the one I was looking for excellent!!
Might go the easy -and lasy way and use some plugins I've found on the web for winamp for the LCD (WinLCD)
If anyone else is interested these links are quite helpfull as well

OMG! LOL
I would love to see the cops face when they open your boot and see that, i think they would run a mile thinking it was a bomb.
How much do you reckon one would cost? And is it a possible job for a numptie?

Imlach - Lee12 from this board is now importing the slimp3 - see http://www.ihavetohave.it (He's got a banner ad too)
It's an easy job to build something like "Limp". It's all standard parts. There's a bit of soldering just to join wires to connectors, but that's it...
