Sure does, although a 2600XP/2800XP can be overclocked to run as quick for nearly quarter of the price.

Yep, the price for that is hilarious for AMD. It used to be that you were buying AMD to get more for less, but that chip equals things really with the p4 3.06. Unfortunatly, the slightly reworked core of that Barton chip only really pays off in limited programs and scenarios atm.

IMO the price is daft.........and for that money i would defo take the P4 route.

For the same price you can have a P4 3.06ghz chip, along with hyperthreading and 533mhz fsb (these chips run better with Windows XP).
Myself id go for a P4, as its still ahead of the competition

I remember paying £400 for an 800mhz Athlon (Classic Slot A) chip!
