Basically i want to install Photoshop on my pc at work.No-one has said we cant, but i'd rather it was in a folder out of sight. Its just something to play around with on night shift.
Whats the simplest way to do it bearing in mind i'm not a computer expert.
Thanks
Paul...

Install it somewhere else, other than program files that is
Then remove the shortcut from the start menu by right clicking on it and deleting it.
You can then run the app from the location you installed it on.
Won't stop it being found by us clever IT people though

Yup, when you install it it'll ask you where you want to install it, default will be program files\jasc software
Just create a new folder, call it temporary files, or work docs, summink like that and install it there.
Then delete the start menu link's it'll create, and you have a well(ish) hidden program

If there is Audit software that is run, then it will find it where ever you hide it on the PC. Except unless it is on a removeable drive that is not connected while the Audit is run.

Even that's not failsafe if the Audit software goes through the Registry.
But I don't currently know of any that does. Most normally look at EXE files.
A removable drive / USB plug in device would be best to hide it. All depends on the IT department you have, Company Policy on software and if Photoshop you want to install is Licensed to you, the company or not at all.
Boils down to how much trouble would you get into if it is found.

Paulr I would check your IT policy as many companies actually class breaching any part of the IT policy as gross misconduct and therefore an instant sackable offence.
I would assume the company policy will state something to the effect that no software be installed on the company pcs by staff without prior permission of the IT department etc.
If your IT department are tighter than a gnats ar$e then you probably wont even have rights to install the software anyway. If you can install it they will certainly be able to find it very easily wherever you install it to.
Bottom line is be sure of how much trouble you would land yourself in if they found it.
P.S. if its not a legitimate copy don't even consider installing it on a company pc!
