If they go out of business then just sign up with a different company. The service is provided by BT and is the same which ever company you choose.

True. Another company did the same thing a couple of months ago and someone else took on thier customers.

BT charge a huge fee about £50 iirc to convert peoples line to support ADSL, so a many of these cheapie ISP's are losing money.

Sorry, this isn't the case. BT provide the service up to the ISP's network. The ISP chooses how big his feed from BT is, and they also have control over the size of their own internet feed. The cheapie companies will probably have the smallest posible feed from BT and also probably pretty limited bandwidth themselves. This hugely impacts performance.

Taking everything into account, that ISP will be losing money on every ADSL install, every month that each user stays on-line with them. They can't be around forever. I'd check any contracts very carefully.

didn't one of the adsl company set up by the same guy when bankrupt? i think it was the one that used the T&C from pipex (a copy and paste job). i am sure i read it in adslguide.org.uk.
