A mate went to a place in Basingstoke, a **** used car dealer, tiny place on an industrial estate; it is NOT a carcraft centre, he was selling a clapped out BMW 3 series, and got £695 for it. Our nearest Carcraft is Swindon, yet he was told to goto Basingstoke, so clearly they have certain places for certain value cars.

Sold my car a few weeks ago, WBAC offered £21k. Sold for £27k. And it sold in 24 hours of being on PH.
But that said, tried the wifes car and they offered £13k for it, and we only paid £11k for it? Did not sell it as was just interested but even if they marked that offer down by 20% it was not that bad. So some cars they want, others not.

Hi,
My name is Katie and I work for webuyanycar.com I just wanted to address some of the issues here;
Firstly, to answer the initial question we sell cars through set disposal routes and not to the general public. We certainly do not, this is a promise, sell cars to the Branning Brothers!
Secondly we are no longer part of the UK Car Group or CarCraft we are now a separate legal entity with a separate management team!
Hope this helps,
Katie

Interesting turn of events here on an old post.
If WBAC.Com do not sell to the public - then, the middleman must take a profit before selling into the Public Domain.
It means the prices paid MUST be the lowest of the low, they must be at the bottom of Auction prices since dealers can buy there in any case.
No wonder they offer a price online and then mark it down at the £80 Valuation!!

Interesting article here:
http://www.oft.gov.uk/news-and-updates/press/2011/46-11
An OFT investigation found that nearly 96 per cent* of customers who sold their car to webuyanycar.com received less for their vehicle than the original website valuation, sometimes by hundreds of pounds.

I fail to see why anyone would bother. They are never going to give you a good deal.
For the lazy and idiotic IMO. I put my old golf through and they quoted me the handsome sum of £50.
The processing fee was £70. It would have cost me £20 to sell my car to WBAC
I fairness its worth £100 at best
Katie - bread to be sure please

A friend of mine sold his car to them. I think it was a Focus, about 5yrs old. They gave a good offer via email but kicked the tyres and tried to knock about £500 off when they turned up.
He took the offer due to being lazy. I reckon he would have got a grand more with a private sale and a bit of effort.
They also offered £275 for my brother's E30 M3 - a £7000 car.
For the lazy and foolish only, unless you don't care about a good deal.

[quote=webuyanycar;9977617]Hi,
Secondly we are no longer part of the UK Car Group or CarCraft we are now a separate legal entity with a separate management team!
So Katie are you saying that we buy any car ltd is not a subsidiary of Uk car group? Does it share directors in common with Uk car group or Carcraft? Who owns the shares of we buy any car ltd? The same shareholders of Uk car group and carcraft by any chance?

No doubt true, but since both Carcraft and Webuyanycar.com operate from the same address and one buys cars and the other sells them I suspect it would be fair to suggest that both are dependent on each other for their business.
It would be interesting to know the percaentage of cars bought by webuyanycar which are then sold on to carcraft and the percentage of cars sold by carcraft which come from webuyanycar.
So yeah they are two separate companies etc. but reliant on eachother for trade?

I was asking the question as 'Katie' who posted under the username webuyanycar was suggesting that webuyanycar.com is completely independant entity from UK car group and carcraft which I believe not to be true. Although it may be a seperate legal entity as it is a registered ltd company in its own right but if it is owned by the same people then its not independant at all!

errrr - nothing to do with CarCraft other than you're owned by a common shareholder (the same family that owns CarCraft). Hmmmm.
