Unhappy Own brand spring type wiperblades

Brought some from a large supermarket today

There going back tomorrow

Absolutely useless, they didn't even clear the mid portions of the screen.

Oh well

Bosch Super Plus, well worth the few extra quid. I wasn't sure about the hype myself to start with, but lived up to it 100% when I fitted some a couple of months back. Clear the screen perfectly, and more to the point totally silent and squeak-free.

Got mine from seller aceparts_uk on ebhay.

They certainly seem to be getting pretty expensive these days.

Depends on the design.

Common or garden blades are ten a penny.

But model specific or single piece type blades can be up to £40 a pair.

For example, some BMW specific blades are not cheap. I just had to replace a pair on our e39 5 series and it is a BMW specific part. Its a standard type blade with custom fitting, so off the shelf blades do not fit, even though they look almost identical. Previously I used bought a standard wiper blades of the same length, and cannibalised it for the rubber. Unfortunately this time round the metal part of the wiper blade had corroded too much to reuse.

Can't do that with one piece wiper blades (VW, Renaults etc). But aftermarket OEM equivelents are appearing now (Bosch, Champion etc.)

What is shocking is what some "Performance" part manufacturers charge for their wiper blades - PIAA for example
