LOL Al stop being such a weapons grade **** spanner the only time i've offered to travel to your neck of the woods was me making you a genuine offer of mechanical help. Which of course you turned down because you're a gobsh*te keyboard warrior who hasn't the ***** to actually meet someone in real life.

My brother had a 54 plate Cupra R, stage 1 mods think it was about 270bhp, was a quick car but didnt really give any feedback so was really quite dull to drive.
Have to agree FWD just deosnt do it for me anymore, I got rid of my Evo because I thought I was bored of it, had a GT V6 for less than a year before going back to 4WD as I couldnt stand the lack of grip.

Seems ok at the minute. Have done around 5k miles in it and around 30 or so quarter mile runs including one at 10.9 seconds with circa 540bhp 500ft/lbs. Its just this week been tweaked to 600 bhp /565 ftlbs and it seems to be coping with it fine.

P.s. Daz ...talking about diff controlls etc., what i don't get is, why subaru haven't made a proper diff settings without crapy understares etc.??? Evos do turn better, skylines also...even Lancias did better... The cornering speed of a subaru is not the best as it just doesn't turn in , i'm talking about the standart cars, without mods. The speed just out of the corner is amazing of course, but the chassis of the scoob is not the best with the front end being 2 heavy.... Audis have same problem thought....

Really ?? i bet your m8 can't drive then...All he does is flats it out, unfortunately every car you have to drive differently , trying to keep it on the grip limit, not spinning the wheels straight away. Don't get me wrong , i prefer 4WD but also respect RWD and FWD. Just for comparison i posted these 2 vids on Focus RS some time ago.....

He has spent about 16k on it now and it really is a load of rubbish imho as it is unusable power in the real world with torque steer galore and just feels dangerous alot of the time, and as for the front tyres he gets through
It doesn't matter how it is driven really it just doesn't give you any confidence to really hammer down unless going straight which to my way of thinking is useless

A std subaru will understeer if pushed to heavy into a bend ,but you simply just need to lift off the gas and the let the nose 'tuck' back in again ,and as you say plant the throttle on the exit and most 2WD/RWD wont get near you . Also forgot to mention that most impreza's are quite rapid on the straights as well.
I have driven an evo 8 round a track, and dispite the super active 'yaw' control, they to still understeer if pushed to hard, but it is not as bad as the impreza imho as the active diff automatically shifts the power round to where its needed most.

Well Evo i drove was tail happy , BUT, i guess they do understeer if u get into corner with 2 much speed still, u can drive them very smoothly. With scooby thought u need to be more aggressive , i've tried it both ways .... smooth = understeer, throw in the nose and as the car weight transfers on to the front, tail becomes light and is about to go wide, then all u need is controll the car balance by udjusting the throttle gently almost drifting into the corner....It can vary thought.... ( i apologize for my english)
I've tried it at brands hatch and managed to wash away more than 0.5sec of the lap time. Best was 59sec. Mods: R888, D2 coloivers
Oh , J Plato explained it perfectly on Type25 as i remember...
This is my m8s Without silly jokes thought ...well sorted 500bhp Evo8 . He competes at TA back home .......Very smooth driver, car...
