The Ej22T came on the earlier US legacys (90 to 95 could be a year out) and are centre thrust blocks with under piston squirters.

The Ej22 on the 22B is also a centre thrust but does not come with the under piston oil squirters.

Both of the above are closed deck blocks therefore ideal powerhouses...

So Simon, any notable 'scalps' taken on the road, as of yet? Fezzas... Lambos... Sportsbikes...? Did you get a good look at their faces?

If you like revs you can do a de-stroked 2.35, this uses a 2.5 block with a 2 litre crank

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F30V...eature=related

My linered 2.5 made this at 1.9 bar with more to come

We much prefer to supply built short blocks rather than supply "kits". The secret is in the quality of the engineering and building, with no substitute for experience. Having our own machine shop gives us total control over quality.
We do not supply linered blocks, or wish to.
We are very happy to build the EJ22, an example is shown below, undergoing preparation.

Here is a pic of Pennine linered 2.5CDB with 14mm studs, top notch quality and as you can see above handles the power no problem

If I was doing it again and looking for a cheaper option I would go with an uprated 2.5ltr semi closed deck block and an MD321V with uprated cams and valves

I a looking at these options too. As i want more power from my 01 JDM STI.

I also love the fact it revs to 8k, would i lose the higher redline with a 2.1/2.25 etc block?

And.... are stroker kits much the same? As loads of manufacturers seem to do them, from Cosworth to Tomei to HKS etc etc. Am i going to see any advantages or disadvantages with going with a big brand kit? (quite like Tomei's stuff!)

you would still be able to rev it to 8k

Both 2.35 and 2.1 use a 79mm crank, however there are other combos.

Have you got any more info on this combo?

E.g. what piston / rod combo it uses?

Yeah there is plenty of info on nasioc.com, generally they use a 2.5 block, 2 litre crank, 2.5 pistons and longer rods.

Long rod 2L or 2.2L using a CDB go well, if you like your engine to rev past 8500rpm. RCM use a long rod 2L in the Gobstopper and with reduced piston speed proves to be a reliable engine.

There is always an element of risk with anything that is using a liner. So don't get sucked in by the "2.5's etc once linered are totally reliable". That is not actual fact and we all know it!

OE standard 2.5 cases can also be reliable.. I know it and so do other tuners like Engine Tuner!

So how much earlier would a turbo start boosting with the different displacements?

Or does it all depend on the actual turbo?

As is there a significant gain in turbo spool of a 2.33 over a 2.1 say?

Or is it more of the case that turbo spool isnt effected all that much, its just a case of larger capacity = more air and fuel = more powaaaaaaaah!?
