Kev,

Why do you run power runs in 3rd gear when it doesn't help spool, I thought 4th gear was the best option on 6 speed boxes?

Edited to say nice torque figure for 1.6BAR

Shame - hopefully another 2.0 will be tested soon to see if the sc46 goes better on a different car.

Hi,

we run them in 3rd to be kind to the car, a run in 4th gives a fairly long pull generating unnecessary heat.

Kev, why would you go for the rotated turbo (and extra expense ) on the 2.35 when maximum HP is not needed ?
Can you clarify that ?

Hi,

I would not bother going rotated if your not trying to get every last drop of power out of the car.

As stated before the rotated turbo's breath better when pushing for big figures, however the direct fit Billets are that good we have fitted them to some of our latest 500 bhp + track cars with stunning results, and of course big savings on pipe work, screamers, external wastegate, and labour.

thanks for your interest,

cheers

No sweat Kev..... at that power level for VPower you were starting to get my attention.

Slap some aftermarket or even ported on and i'd imagine it'd reach 430ish or even more

Yep I saw a gain of about 22bhp when I stuck tubular headers on and that was before tweaking the map (I'm running MD321H) and I recon the torque would pass 400lbs too.

I was on 372bhp with ported OEM headers and that went up to 395bhp measured on the dyno just before the map tweak.

If that car made 390lbs with stock headers, it should break 400lbs with tubular ones?

Hi,

we do the GT spec headers and 3 bolt up pipe fitted at £575.00, you will see gains but would you feel it?.. doubtful.

We can give it a try though as the next step.

I am pleased the car performs for you Mick.

Cheers

Hi,

wrapping is extra as its very time consuming to do it properly, using the proper exhaust wrap is not cheap either, plenty of crap wrap out there but the good stuff costs, we do a deal price of headers and up pipe, wrapped and fitted for £650.00 + vat includes the required gaskets.

Cheers

Hi

Just done another SC46 billet Twin scroll.

Its on E 85 as its a track car and will only ever be run on top quality fuel.

This car is fitted with a hyperflow monster FMIC, rated to 1000 bhp, JDM 6 speed run in 3rd gear both of which will greatly effect spool, road test will tell us for sure.

Should be fun.

Not a lot of boost there - guessing that is on a standard bottom end ??

You're right it does look a little late to spool from the graph not that that will matter when on track for Matt, but would have thought spool would be earlier from a twin scroll.

Hi,

I dont think the huge hyperflow monster is helping, nor the fact that its a close ratio gearbox run in 3rd, and for the record, completely standard engine, Subaru's finest.

Road test with lappy will tell us, thats if we get it down our lane, its a bit low.

cheers

Hi,

Th reason this car is fitted with the hyperflow monster is eventually it willl be blessed with a 2.33, 500 bhp + engine to go with it.

The normal Hyperflow FMIC is well up to the job and so are many other intercoolers, like the ones sold by Harvey for example.

Hope the above helps, PM me if you require any further input.

cheers
Kev
