Kev, when you tested these new turbos, was the reason they worked so well because you thoroughly cleaned them to a blinging shine beforehand??! Ergo... with Cilit Bang the Billets sang!

Had a billet GT35R .82 mapped on mine at Zens last week .
Made 615 BHP on my rcm 2.1 engine.20% Meth and v power
Paul thinks there is a lot more in it but my 850cc injectors maxed out.

Is it just me or is the GT30R Billet the best solution rendering all these other turbo's a bit useless ?
I'm not trying to be a full fletched turbo guru here but i thought i'd share my observation.
Looking at the Sc series, even the smaller ones i don't really see dramatic spool up benefits and you clearly see that torque and HP drops significantly as rpm go past 5000.
I'd reckon that a GT30R would even be a great choice for those that don't want to push 500+ Hp and aim at let's say 420 Hp. They could reach that a relatively low boost levels making reliabillity a lot better.
Or am i missing something here ?

Hi Kev,
Noticed you sell the billet GT30R, do you also sell the rotated pipes etc?
Looking at a full rotated setup with external wastegate and screamer pipe.
Would the rotated Up-pipe be able to join up to OEM headers?

Hi,
the whole point of the direct fit range is that they do fit straight on, no messing with expensive pipework and the labour that goes with it, not forgetting the external wastegate and screamer pipe.
That said the rotated set up does breath easier and therefore performs better, it is correct what you say that there are turbo's out there using the GT30 cartridge fitted into a direct fit casting, to be fair our SC46, SC50 and SC54 use a derivitive of the GT30 cartridge with our billet wheel.
So yes, you are missing something, some people dont want the expense of the rotated setup, they simply want a direct fit, bolt on unit that performs, and these billet turbo's do perform, my personal car on a direct fit SC54 gives a whopping great 560 BHP on V power.
cheers

we do sell the pipe work but to be fair we get if from RCMS as its the best on the market, you may as well buy it direct from Olly.

I am looking for a turbo that can give me the following on a 2.35 build engine:
- fast spool up (asap)
- about 420 Bhp without running mad boost (about 20 psi)
- being able to run high rpms (272 degrees cams !) and still providing enough air
Is this even possible, if so what would you recommend Kev ?

Hi,
no its the same as it was, my mistake, only human, 528 BHP.
Then we did a meth mix.
Its insane on the road, and not bad for a direct fit, no extra pipe work and no chiselling off lumps of block.
Thanks for pointing out my mistake, heavy day yesterday, cannot even blame it on a typo.
cheers

That makes total sense and please don't see my comments as critisism.

in answer to both of these questions the SC46 Billet direct fit would be ideal, however on the 2.35 engine I would go to the extra expense and fit a rotated GT 30 Billet, the bottom end you have will be well caperble of dealing with it.
Graph below is an SC46 Billet on an STI 2.0 ltr, I must point out this car was 20 BHP down when we ran it before mods and has stayed that way all throughout testing, maybe its a friday car.
On the road the car is stunning, spool loads quicker than on the dyno.
410 bhp and 390 ftlb's.
Cheers
