Simon,

The 17's defo clear four pots, and provided you are on PCD 114 on your diesel, than Litchfield are doing recycled 17"s for £50/corner!

All

From what I have read winter tyres are recommended for below 7c. What happens to them when it gets warner? The ones I have seen seem to be V hard compound, with detail tread presumably to help cope with ICE.

The PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) is the diameter of the circle pattern of the bolts that hold your wheel on. STI's have since the 2005 Blob been PCD 114, with previous STi's and all other scoobies being 100mm. Allegedly the PCD in STi was increased to cope with the cornering loads imposed by the introduction of the Potenza RE070 tyre, with its semi slick cut tread as the larger PCD is a function of the larger hubs engineered to take the larger load.

So why is it relevant. If your PCD is 100mm, then STi sized brakes will not fit on your hubs unless they are dual pattern. Similarly when you buy wheels you will need to chose wheels of that pattern as well. I have an 07 WRX on PCD 100mm, and my STi hatch on PCD 114, so no swapping about of hand me downs from the STi to the WRX as upgrade mania sets in.

Or you could buy some spacers from CDF racing that will convert your 5 x 100 to 5 x 114

Default Boot end rattle/squeak

So far two votes for ferodos. Any more?

Hi mate,

I noticed mine made quite a pronounced annoying squeak/rattle when going over terrain changes diagonally. I often have my back seats down to transport stuff and had noticed that the noise was not there then. I took all my rear bench seats apart looking for a stiff joint or something that would make the noise.
In the end I traced it to the latches that hold the seats upright to the chassis. I wrapped some electrical tape around the pins that the latch catches on and the noise was gone Not ideal I know, but it worked. The latch wears through the tape and putting the seats up and down regularly only speeds this up but I just replace it now and then.

Hope this helps

Ben
