Oh well, I have a de frost job to do when I get home tonight.
The headlight washers have jammed in the out position, and the washer motor for the windscreen jets has frozen solid. The scrren wash I put in over the weekend is rated to -15 apparently.
Not happy as that means draining 5 litres of wash fluid in sub zero temps.

it's looks good! the only is the fitting! only is to drille it away a bulit up new fittings plate! this one was a different off about 1 cm! and you can not fit the spoiler before you take the plate away!
so if you have your thumb in the centre of your hand, don't by this spoiler!
i shuld take off the orginal spoiler! an doing same work on the rear spoiler

So, Like the muppet I am I jumped in the car today and thought "woohoo, 4 wheel drive - should be fine"
Crawled down the road with the diff on auto turned left and was suprised to find I was still going straight on! A quick decision to (ahem) park the car into a kerb to avoid a low speed slide into a parked Passat.
It was then that I remembered reading somewhere that Yoko S drives are not the best winter tyre in the world, particularly when they are part worn!
A very gentle and smooth journey to work then followed with the SI-Drive in I and the diff still in Auto and traction on.
When I got into car park (very snowy) I locked the diff and had terminal understeer at walking speed. ABS kept activating which increased my stopping distances somewhat
What set up do you guys use in snow?
Have to say, my old Cooper S was a more sure footed steer in snow than the drive I had in today.

Select manual and you want 2 or 3 line showing on the dash.
You might need the handbrake so this will help.
Leave the TC on it allows a fair ammount of fun and does help.
If your brave turn t off.
AUTO- is my daily position and TC off but this is no good in the snow if you like to use the handbrake.
good luck
Arron.

Went looking for the ABS fuse last night. Driving wih ABS in snow and ice aint advisable as the Focus infront found out (driving like a muppet anyway).
Found out on the WRXD's the abs and traction control is on the same fuse. Bugger.

Its set to run and run
With I mode selected you do not need to be so "measured" with your right foot so can achieve a smoother driving style more easily.
Personally I am not convinced I need to deploy 330bhp on my journey home today (unless I find a nice empty car park) so will probably go for I around town and S for the main roads.
That said I did manage to simply jump in the car and drive it out of works car park whilst my BMW owning colleagues spun their rear wheels and then went to get snow shovels!

One weight came loose and as it came off, made grooves all the way round the rim

There is little difference from inside the car, but it sounds more throaty from the outside. Also the rear view of the car has a more balanced look to it than it had with the single big pipe on one side.

Think its about having the car under power in order to maintain control - rather than free wheeling.

i must say tho, the grip is amazing even with S# setting on, nail it and there is a tiny loss of traction but any FWD or RWD car just spins the wheels, I LOVE THIS HATCH
MERRY XMAS TO ALL AND DRIVE CAREFULLY OUT THERE GUYS

Merry Christmas to all you fellow hatch owners
I hope Santa brings you all the upgrades you were hoping for
And watch the waistline - better to pass on that third mince pie & do some donuts instead in 2" of snow in your local retail park
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Friction Performance
Does anyone have the part numbers to hand for the Friction Performance front and rear brake pads?
Am looking at Performance Friction Brake Pads - Z (PF.11) Compound but am not sure if they are supplied in sizes to fit the Hatch STi.
cheers
