Mine turned out to be dirty, I just removed it and gave it a quick spray with Maplin Electrical Cleaner. I could see the elements were dirty and afterwards they were white(ish). Runs like a different car now, give it a shot before buying a new MAF.

It was hesitating off boost and bogging down. All gone now

Problem fixed, door opened with the key it just didn't make an "electrical" noise much to my embarrassment when the neighbour opened the door.

Thanks for all the replies.

You've made us all laugh with that one.

So you turned the key but didn't actually try to open the door?

Since the scoop is not doing anything on my car, should I remove that black plastic bit?

So i took the under scoop off the bonnet, quite fancied not putting it back, but wasn't sure if to much water might get in, so just went with more silent coat and put the scoop back after.

Again can't stress enough how good this stuff is, noticeable difference each time i put some on the car. This is the lighter 2mm product, bonnet still lifts fine.

Has anyone else fitted one of this "ebay" type strut braces ? My cross bar sits on top of the bodywork , and is actually forced tight down on it to allow me to attach the bar to the ends. Does that sound ok ? Seems wrong to me but want to know before leaving feedback.

No. Tried that twice already and don't have the skill / patience to pull it off. I coloured my existing units with fine detail masking tape and E-Tech tint.

I didn't get mine from eBay though I believe they are sold on there. I use an M2 strut bar which are highly thought of by the BMW forums, looks very similar to yours.

It does not rub on any of the trim or bodywork though gets close to it. Here are a few pics of mine.

Yours looks like it has an extra bend in it , which probably takes it above the bit where mine hits.
