The standard top mount is gash! and it bolts (directly) on to the turbo so it won't fit any other turbo upgrade like the one i have bought.
If you're planning over 400bhp then splash out the overpriced perrin or ridiculously priced Cosworth. If your planning 400 or below then the Japspeed one should be fine! which i have.
(Somebody correct me if im wrong)
Old top mount vs New FMIC
Mostly correct mate -
* Japspeed good for over 400 also, I sure Rob's has held up ok and that's after 2 years.
* If wanting to stay TMIC an option is Grimmspeed from USA - I had mine flown in and more than happy with the performance and certainly the look of it (in black) currently delivering 475 power and Andy Forrest mapping/testing.

Is that a grimspeed for the STI? because the WRX hatch is different setup to the STI, it has a different inlet manifold and entry point and the intercooler outlet just bolts directly to the turbo.
If you want to use an STI intercooler on the WRX you have to change the inlet manifold and fuel line layout.
The hole reason I bought the wrx was because no one else had one and I wanted to be diffrent and I do love the wrx but just thinking the 330s is pretty much perfect with everything I want only problem is the price tag but by the time I've modded this I could get a an Sti then abit more and then 330s
Come on Daz, do the maths.. speak to your wife explain the cost effectiveness of swapping sooner rather than later.. explain about having a limited edition car.. no more than 200 ever registered

Yeah mate, currently only direct switch up to 07 plate WRX, but plans for 08 onward upgraded Grimmspeed one

We have eibach pro kit fitted to ours just right not to low closes the gap nice and can still get over speed bumps . And is more comfortable than the standard springs imo.

What is the consensus on Hatchback STi's coilovers such as BC or lowering springs?
I have had BC coilovers with softer springs and found them to be better on newage cars than the standard struts and springs but I admittedly don't know too much about GR models.
What wheel nuts can someone recommend me, I'm looking for blue or red but don't want cheap eBay numbers that will twist or crack?
I have the blox ones on mine never had a problem with them loosening off but i will be changing them soon as after 4 months the anodised red is now a faded pink.
I seen some on a hatchback last week that looked smart he bought them from Revolution 24/7 just make sure you torque them up correct. I now drive around with a torque wrench in the boot.

Stop asking questions and get some pictures up lol 😘

I have the TEIN on my WRX the height is spot on closing the wheel arch gap nice but i can still get over speedbumps. The wife likes the ride as its still quite soft i personally would prefer it if they were a bit stiffer.

It's a little hard Daz to give her a clean and then take some pics when the heavens are literally emptying on top of the car, if the weather abates later on then I will try.
I had cusco coil overs on the type r and hated it they were to harsh so if I ever go down the coil over route I'll be going in a few cars first. I've heard good things about bc on hatches but need to go in a car to see what there like.

Clyne don't ask he changes cars like we change t shirts lol ty has just picked up his new hatch Sti let the modding begin
As Daz has said I have had quite a few models in my time, when I have the time I will update my profile, but below are the models I have had so far:
1. Hawkeye WRX Type UK
2. Bugeye STi Spec C RA S202
3. Blobeye STi Spec C Motorsport
4. Bugeye STi Spec C RA S202
5. Classic 22B
6. Hatchback STi Type UK
I am renowned for my ability to get a car just how I want to get it and then sell them on, perhaps the Hatchback STi might just be a keeper...

Jesus thats an impressive list
Cant help but think apart from the Hawkeye WRX your onto your worst car?
Its probably the easiest one to live with as a daily driver tho!

That is subjective though and if you have done a day's driving in any of the Spec C models you will get out of the car exhausted. I recently took a group out on a drive around Mid Wales and after 7 hours of driving (with breaks) I was physically drained.
I wanted a car which could offer performance, practicality and some comfort so it was either a Hatchback STi or a Forester STi.
Don't be fooled into thinking that just because a model is a Spec C or other enhanced performance model that they are better, they are aimed at a slightly differing market with different needs.
You could organise my car list in any order depending upon what you wanted from a car, having done a little driving so far in the Hatchback I have to say that at the moment it would have to be near the top of the list.

I will probably go with Eibach kit TBH its slightly more expensive but prob worth the extra ££ is the prodrive Eibach the same as any Eibach kit?

I know a few people that fell in love with Phil's car at prodrive the other week it's a lovely car along with robs white one and dons black and carbon one it's their fault I want rid of my hatch wrx and want an 330s
That's sat On BC Racing BR series coil overs, its had them on for 6 years. Only just this year I replaced the springs and top mount bearing plates due to fair wear and tear

I wouldn't describe robs as sex though, beast is more fitting with whats under the bonnet, try to stay off this thread as cant afford all the bits that see on here and then want !!

Thanks for the compliment, it continues to evolve
Just to clarify something that has been ongoing re: The "Blue" springs..........
Located this box yesterday. Blue Pro R springs will/can fit the early widebody Hatch

My opinion is that the STI hatch is the best car Subaru ever made. All of their models have a compromise of some description, and the hatch had its set very differently to the others. You can modify one into a far better one, and tailor it to your taste to a degree that you can't with any other model.
I really hope you're enjoying your car, Ty. I've gone to have another gander at the S202 I'm looking forward to a proper drive in her next weekend
