Unfortunately I've got one damaged rear (N/S) Rally Armor STi mud flap (ripped), don't really want to import another full set to replace just the one.

Anyone got a spare kicking about that they are willing to sell?

Why not shoot RA an email off to see if they can supply just the one, you never know they may even send for free if they have good customer services?

Guys

Do any of you have an MP3 player connected via the jacks in the centre console?
Can you simply control from the head unit?

I'm refering to the 330S navigation unit here as I don't know what the standard STI has.

 

couldn't control it using the nav screen no, only listen to music via the i-phonoe

 

I use the jacks on the standard STI headunit for my iphone, all they do is send the music to the aux input, all controls have to be done on the MP3 player, not brillaint but works!

I guess the nav unit is the same.

 

We'll thats a right bollox isn't it.

Maybe I'll just continue burning MP3's on CD - at least I can control it easily then.

Stupid question though - can you send video via the iphone

 

I have the 2011 saloon with the new Clarion unit, its got USB and Phoni, when connected Via USB it transfers to headunit and pops a nice subaru sign on Ipod or Iphone.

only issue is screen is so ****e on the clarios u cant rally navigate.

For this you really need that Big 330s screen,

 

No reason why not... but it'll disable once on the move...

Its really a shame that the navigation unit doesn't have USB - especially as its an option for the US market

 

I thought Subaru Uk where getting these (eventually)... Subaru MediaHub

Ipod,USB etc all via the OEM Nav or CD units. Not cheap but worth it if you have NAV, best calling your dealer and asking what the score is.

You see I've asked and been told no.
But the media hub documentation specifically shows the 330S navigation head unit.

 

LOL... that's why i generally take what dealers say with a pinch of salt. I was told they would be available in the UK. Guess we'll only know when one physically hits the dealer shelves. I couldn't be arsed waiting so got a Kenwood screen .

 

We'll you see, my dealer said these were only for the Legacy.
I suspect they don't really know either.

I did have a kenwood setup on my last STI - but it would be a shame to rip out the 330S head unit I think, because whatever you replace it with will just look aftermarket.

I might try I.M direct for an answer, but I'm not sure who to talk to.

 

The Media hub shown at the bottom is what i have in the 2011 saloon.

the sat nav headunit is now by Fujitsu and costs arouns 1200 this is then the full setup

im saving up for the headunit but as of now im just using tomtom

i dont think u can get the overpriced 330s headunit and to be honest a pioneet one is as good, benifts of 330s though was i think you had fuel etc also on that unit.

the above fuji one is like aftermarket but Subarus pref route now, It also ties into the handsfree thats included in the new STI

The USB is as always the best thing, fill a 32 gig stick up with mp3s, thats all u need

 

Right then - clarrification

I just talked to a really helpful chap called Richard in I.M.

Basically the media hub is not available for the 330S navigation unit.
THey have asked the Yanks to ship them their version of that head unit over so they can test it to see if it works.
He says that they are unable to deal directly with Japan on this.

 

I think urban if u want new Ipod USB Giga Mp3 stuff, then weigh up what u like about the headunit u have if it warrents it then keep it. otherwise get that new kenwood beast or Pioneer with Sat Nav

I did always fancy the dials thing on the 330s unsure what it gives u but looks like Fast n Furious

usb is the way though for me so easy i even prefer it over ipod and iphone

 

There's lots of neat little things on the 330S unit which I prefer to keep to be honest.
I will just continue to burn MP3's onto CD - hardly a massive inconvienience, plus I reckon that I reckon that they will eventually have a USB interface for the "premium" STI hatchback.
The yanks claim to have one afterall.

 

Looks like I am leaving the hatchback brigade next weekend.
Weather and tiredness permitting.
I will let you know my PX value once the deal is completed.
