I've added "on a New Age" to my oil change post to save the dealers phones from ringing off the hook.

If my car is sitting for 5 weeks at a a time would you recommend removing the crank sensor before starting it for the first time?

On my car, the engine will not start if you crank it with the accelerator floored.
It is a feature designed to deal with flooded engines and means I don't have to disconnect any sensors.
Why not give it a go when your engine is warm to see if it works on yours.
