Has anyone found a good way to check oil/top up the gearbox oil on a wrx with a sti top mount?

The dipstick is hard to reach, and a sod to put back.

It takes so long to get the dipstick in and out im not 100% confident of the reading. I did an oil change at the wknd and Ive put 3.5~litres back in, so it should be ok,just like to be 100%

Haven't tried on my new age yet, but on the classic you could get easy access with the intercooler off.

It can be done, I find it easy enough to get it out for the level check but a pain to get back in. I usually use my left hand to find the hole and guide the dipstick in with my right (that sounds wrong!). It usually results in a couple of grazed knuckles and a sore back after though
