Hi clive
How did you get on at shaky today.
I went yesturday and got my 10 at last .1st and only run i did
10.97 @ 131mph 60ft 1.69.
Had loads of wheelspin in 1st gear, that was with 21psi .
Lowered them to 18psi to try again but it rained ,so did not get another run.

Marty,
Good 60ft time for this time of yr,,Not sure how you get that if wheel spinning
There is still loads left in it though mate,,
A 600bhp evo or scooby should be hitting 136mph terminals,,

Well done, time to start experimenting with the launch control RPM. Was it any better in general this time around?

Congrats on your 10 Marty.

I've found my perfect rpm for launching is 5500 any more than that and I get too much wheelspin off the line.

On my 10.90 run i got a 1.76 60ft time.

I need to try it on some proper tyres now but I dont think that will be until next year now.

Thanks Paul,
Launch control is a lot better since you adjusted it,the boost is a lot more stable now .
I tried it at 6300rpm and around 0.7 bar boost (number 6)
went off the line o.k but did feel it spinning a bit in 1st gear.
Lowered the tyre pressures but the rain came and did not get another run.
I have put a video up in the members gallery ,still not changing gear quick enough though.
weight saving time i think
Cheers
Martin

Well done Marty, glad you got that 10 mate.

Here's my story from today -

Well just got in from Shakey, no new thread you will notice as still no 9. 3 X 10.1's !! Did not have best of luck today, first run had a misfire that was put down due to fouled plugs on the leaded fuel, thought I would just run again to see if it cleared and still there so plugs cleaned and problem solved. Then it was about getting it off the line, one run I crept and started the timing before I launched so 2 second 60 ft and a 10.3 ! Then too early with change to second and 10.1.

Second from last run 10.102 (new PB) 60ft in the 1.6's, so straight round for one final go and best 60ft of 1.61 of the day and then a plug lead came off, very frustrating.

Was very busy there today so was waiting an hour between runs which does not help.

Still may now head back on 31st Oct for one final go.

Thanks to Mikee, Mike L & Sy North for your help and advise today guys. Spot on as always.

I have vids that I will get downloaded later.

Clive

Boot is plastic already, doors will be stripped and I will use plastic windows. Other items too to come out yet. Target is well below 1100kg.

Never had the pleasure of meeting you Clive, I've just heard you described as a big lump! I've seen a photo too - it was quite a good description

How much over 1100kg are you at the moment?

And what about the car? *groan*

Yeah, you're probably right - too much listening to OC!

Next season sounds like it'll be interesting. It seems like a few people have upped their power recently, so it'll be nice to see a few more people in the 10's (and possibly 9's!). I might even stop being a ***** and see if I can get a 10.x out of mine

Right back from my hols and have 2 more days of so back to the cars. Today I took the inlet off the Type R to fit spacers to get my new samco inlet fitted. I seems the Engine Tuner hare pipe one is not as good a fit with all the standard fuel rails and a verion 1.5 manifold. Looked better using the spacers but the Samco job fits perfectly so I will stick with that. Now all back together yet so more pics to come.

Tomorrow I have assistance for fitting the Neetronics DCCD controller I have as there is no DCCD control at all currently.

Got to organise with Duncan and a day that fits using Pauls rollers. If everything goes okay tomorrow then I will sort from there.

I have today organised for the Drag cars engine to be refreshed. It will be coming out on the 10th November. Mark of Lateral performance fame will be supplying all the parts for the refresh, the engine is currently a lateral internal unit and will stay that way. Between Mark and Paul of Zen we have sorted all the details and things will stay much the same with some minor tweaks. The Lateral Performance name will now also adorn the car next season along with Scoobyclinic and Zen. There's no sponsorship involved here in the true sense of the word but just me saying thank you for the support.

The engine builder will also be the same, Tim who worked for Paul before Paul decided to concentrate on mapping will again be building the engine. You can't fault what this engine has achieved over the last two years so I will stick with the same people who have supported me thus far.

Following all of that Scoobyclinic will be supporting the lightening process for next season.

Once again I would like to thank all of these guys for supporting me as it would not be possible without their combined help.

Work continued today on the type r. I finished off the fitting of the new inlet pipe and associated hoses. Ren came round at lunchtime to fit my Neetronics DCCD controller as electrics are not my strongest point I also sorted a case for the Simtek and installed that also. So now ready for mapping !
