Cheers chaps, it's as much as we could do to make sure it has the most power possible for TOTB this year.

I will test Sunday (weather dependent) at the Pro Street Drag Series.

Then in with the race fuel and result was 646bhp @ 2.2 bar, graph shows back to back with the last run in April at the same boost but on V-Power/Meth mix, so a 33bhp gain for the Maxnos. Also worth noting how high ambient temps were today compared to the April run.

Thanks again to Paul @ Zen for once again finding more power

nice result.. was the april run on the billet or the normal 35?

Was on the Billett Simon, the April date was when we tried the VP109 vs V-Power Meth. When the billet was fitted and mapped at the clinic originally it made 622 @ 2.2 bar.

Couldn't quite catch your big number mate, but happy with the result

Clive - you going to leave the boost at 2.2 or any room to increase?

just have a think about the cylinder pressure at 2.2bar, the ignition system is having to over come all that pressure and a misfire at that boost and bye bye head gaskets, head gaskets are having to hold all that pressure as it is.
theres a lot more to just add more boost and see more power Jag

oh cool, which VP109 is that the C16?

You can't judge one result and assume every other car will also make that much.
The wouldn't be good figure to beat when I did mine was Mike L's that I did at 659bhp so it was a nice to get beyond that figure.

Generally you would say 62lb gt35R wheel should make 10bhp per lb.. so 620bhp give or take a bit.. I am currently at 10.725bhp per lb.. so unlikely to see anymore without breaking something, it's easy to assume more boost or more timing will give more but when you are approaching max of the turbo it makes sense to stop.. time for another turbo if I want more.. billet 35 is a 67lb equivalent wheel I believe as the vanes can be machined further down it so it performs like a smaller wheel in spool up

No, the VP we tried was the motorsport 109. I was only joking about trying to catch your figures or Mikes but it's good for banter The 3 cars are similar but I am missing wild cams and verniers, but was pleased the manifold worked. Plus we were on different dynos.

We did think about a little more boost but I think that may be pushing my 2 year old engine, maybe after a refresh and some more trick bits

Got to admit that you are doing very well on your 2 year old engine.
Are you plannning on a refresh come this winter?

Do you plan to try different race gas?

I'm getting my car map for Sunoco109 by Pat the now. Will know the results soon.

So we will know in another week then Peter

Going to stick with the MaxNos now we know it works. Refresh will be closed season if I can save enough pennies and find someone to do it. My heads will need double valve springs this time and I should consider something wilder than the DH22 cams.

Depends v much on individual engine and setup.
If you are at lower output than turbo can do you may consider trying more boost but it wont always produce more power sometimes the issue needs addressing be it verniers, cams etc rather than throwing boost at it.
Rings if they work would help with nos and help counter misfire gasket damage although can just push issue elsewhere.
One car for example misfire with nos and blows the inlet manifold apart, stronger manifold fitted this season and I am trying different methods to stop risks of missfire for example moving rev limiter higher and using other ways to stop engine reving as a clip of the limiter at the level this engine is at is rebuild time.

Not exactly sure on miles, but a few tracks days early doors after it was built but then on to sprinting and drag. The car has done very little normal road miles (2-3k) The other stuff has been all flat out as you know.

Now you have the power mate it would be interesting to see it over the 1/4 given we are very similar weights, car that is

Clive,
Well done on your latest figures.

Was det stopping you from going further, or were you being sympathetic to the car?
