I think the spool will be very good but i dont think Daz will be near 600 with only the .63. A swap to the .82 will be needed.
Peter, id love to be tempted but im happy enough with what i have decided with. Ive just commissioned Neil @ T-Logic to make my rotated setup so theres no going back now haha.

Daz, what about doing the port work yourself?

What I meant was that I'd probably make them worse so I left them well alone.

I think with the heads i've got (D25) there's a fair bit that can come out of them but I i'll be honest and say I have neither to tools or the knowledge to do it.

I'll see how I get on to start with when the Cosworth Cams go in. I'm not trying to extract every last bit of power out of the car so its not an issue at the mo.

If they do become a restriction then I'll send them off somewhere to get done properly.

Fair enough mate.

Ive had a bit of time on my hands recently so sat and P&P my heads. I say ported, i took very little in the way of real heavy material out. I just sat and cleaned all the crappy casting marks out of the ports and smoothed the flow of all areas.
gasket matched the intakes. I spent quite a bit of time on the exhaust ports and these are now a mirror polish finish. in 99% of areas.

The intakes have been left with very smooth but with a key to the surface. I dont know how much this will help the breathing ofmy motor..if at all really. But i thought id just try and maximise what i had to begin with.

Cams will ultimtely hold my motor back, but how much... i doubt i'll be worried about it.

Daz isn't ignoring anyone, it's just that his little one decided to vomit his entire dinner over Daz's laptop rendering it useless

He is currently locating data on hard drive & will be back with us soon fellas.

Well the engine is finally in the car

Still a great deal of work to do but I'm happy with progress so far.

That's one of two original Newage pumps I have Clive both surplus to requirements as I am going to use the original one. Do you want one of them?

Yes mate that would be useful for the white car actually as I need to relocate that one too now to allow me to fit a bigger inlet pipe for the other turbo

Got the radiator from Gazza who made the kit. I believe its a radiator from an Astra thats had the end caps replaced. I'll measure it tomorrow.

Only if the engine, box and shell sell otherwise I'll mothball it until the work situation picks up.

be such a shame to not see it through at such a late stage, it's nearly there, deserves to be completed

totally understand that needs must though, hopefully the work situation will improve and you can carry on..............

as beef has said i hope work can pick up for you as its such a shame to see the car come this far and not quite get finished, it'll be like a book without its ending but needs must and i don't blame you for thinking about it.

Well it's been some weekend thats for sure!

Most of my mates work abroad in various jobs from oil rigs, north sea divers, and ex forces doing security work in numerous trouble spots so its rare that we are all home together. This was one of those rare weekends.

The village that we all grew up in had its annual show. You know the type of thing marrow growing competitions, bake offs etc.

A couple of the lads play for Doncaster vets rugby team so we were roped (excuse the pun) into doing the tug of war. This is serious business and we naturally met in the local a few hours before hand to discuss tactics. This is where things started to spiral out of control.

We won the tug of war so naturally back to the beer tent to celebrate. After that another local a few miles away in the sticks had its annual summer hog roast with live bands so more beer.

Finally a mini bus into Doncaster which was busy as hell due to the horseracing earlier that day.

So picture the scene, a veterans rugby team, a couple of riggers a north sea diver, two ex squaddies and me an ex bootneck.

It's fair to say its been more than a few years since i've had such a messy weekend and really enjoyed myself up until the point where I saw some p*key bastid full on head butt this beautuful petite little blonde because she rejected his advances. One of the lads took exception to this and things very very quickly went pair shaped. Any way details aside shortly afterwards with bed and breakfast sorted I find my self confined to a small room with a wooden bed and an inch thick matress and some time for reflection. Long story short, I'm not going to fall at the last hurdle and it would be criminal to give up after having come so far and worked so hard.

I cant describe how i've felt over the last few days (apart from very ill today) and dont expect anyone to appreciate my predicament about it all but I've come through it and I'm now more determined than ever to see the thing through. So I'm keeping it and will finish it!

Great to hear Daz, sounds like an interesting weekend for sure.
Glad to hear you're back on track with it, if I lived closer I would come and lend a hand.

Best of luck mate, looking forward to seeing the progress.

Glad you have seen sense, it would have been an injustice for it not to turn a wheel.
