Project P1 600bhp +
Same with big mod engines. Lift the bonnet, look at it but it doesn't tell the whole picture
(The bhp figure used will need to be confirmed on a dyno)
but working it out at 560bhp with the P1 weight at 1295kg it will be developing 432.3 bhp per ton.
Does that seem about right ?? anyone.

Indeed amazing bit of engineering had a feel of the pedal on SY's and it felt so light.... Definitely top stuff.
Sy and Olly said it would make a huge difference having the RCM release bearing fitted.
Had email from Olly today and he said it feels great.
New Turbo work has now begun !!

....Is this possible from a 30/37 turbo?Seems to be going below your original high expected figures of 700 odd??

Been a busy day today, got my wagon over to my pals for it's new engine to be dropped in then over to the pod this afternoon to try and get to grips with this drag racing lark. Had a great day, finally mastered getting the thing into the 11's consistantly with a best of 11.404, done several mid 11's (11.5, 11.6, 11.7) and terminals over 125, best being 127.
I am now confident the car will do 10's because none of my runs were clean, only once did I get a 1.8 60ft time, others were all around 2. I must master the 1st to 2nd change which I still struggle with and speed up other gear changes. Also need to optimise AVCR for drag also.
All in all though I am very pleased

Mind you, I do hear that there are a couple of naughty high powered wr1 boys out there....looking forward to seeing them on the strip this year.
Nothing to hide.....I was only asking a question on the turbo and what it can achieve - afterall I was under the impressions Clive was aiming for 600/700?....
I am only a mere "wr1" which is not in the league of some you chaps power wise.....so need to learn

At the 30-130 event there are weighing scales - so it will be interesting to see actual weights in road trim with all fluids etc from a collection of classics and newage in real terms and the times they do with the power they have.
Id say that over 130 thou I would guess aero drag will have more effect than weight and I assume the newage is more aerodynamic. (does anybody know the cDs?)

Are you supplied reaction times??
The figures of 600 - 700 I had suggested will become difficult without major changes, but not impossible JP4.
If the current engine develops mid 500's (and that was the initial aim) then so be it.
If a year down the line I want more power and it means starting afresh with RCM and a new car & new engine, then it will happen.

Certain issues have become evident, issues I had overlooked within mine & Olly's initial talks way back.

It might be a good idea to wait till November till the next upgrade.
There are rumours that Cosworth are building a 2.5 Closed Deck Block which will be avaliable at the end of this year - coupled with their stroker billet crank will make a 2.6 CBD ultra stong setup
- this will move the game on once again, giving high torque even when using mega big turbos/power.With the availability of the 2.2 CDB drying up, I can see this being the tunning choice (assuming it works) so roll on next year.
Car Tuning never stands still I guess

The 6 speed in something I will need to get used to. Speaking with Steve about this (Eureka) as he has made the 5 to 6 speed step.
Will let you know my thoughts Trails.

mmmmmm. Thanks Sy. As you know, I do still have options with the P1.
I will give it some time, enjoy the car and make a decision later in the year.
I certainly am not saying that the P1 will stay at it's current spec, but if I do decide to leave it as it is then I will speak with RCM.
This is the first time I have dealt with a tuning company and I did not fully understand the sequence of events, but I have learned at lot.
If I do decide to give it another go I will most certainly use RCM again, sit down with Matt & Olly and talk.
The Cosworth CD block sounds like it could be their choice for the base.
