Being a new design (rotated turbo kit) there has been much fabrication and some of the bits & pieces that RCM have had made from an engineering company have been thereabouts but not exact. Thereabouts isn't good enough so Olly returned them hence the delay, however Olly is on the case and things are now cookin'.

New Induction pipes are made and just awaiting return from being polished.
S/Steel flanges for the waste gate are now done and brackets on down pipe or up pipe ? being delivered early tomorrow morning.

Fabricated wing box had also been finished, so I guess it wont be long now.

You up The Pod this weekend Clive ??

I am up there with Sy on Saturday. Got Scooby Shoot Out early doors then we are on to the Pod mid morning.

Clive's - no wire crossed here - (discounting the ones connected to my top injectors two weeks ago)

Saturday im at DSA in Alylesbury for a dyno day organised by Bucks Scoobies

See here.

https://www.scoobynet.com/southern-e...-2009-a-3.html

There may be spare slots if anyones interested - contact wimpy.

My slot is 9.10, after that weather permiting im off to the POD.

So its a "Dyno Shoot Out" not a "Scooby Shoot Out"

Clear as mud?

Sy

Sounds like it's that other Clive that's getting confused

Are you putting different wheels and tyres on for the rollers this time to avoid 'sticky' issues ?

You not coming up for Scoobysprint on Sunday then ?

Clive - the non confused one

That's a shame about Scoobysprint, or actually given how quick your car is then it's good for my chances

Now listen here MadSy & SleeperHammer, I'm not confused.

I knew what I meant regarding the Pod Dyno Shoot at Aylesford and the Scooby Shoot Out at Buckingham one hour later.

Your both just confusing the whole day now !

Anyway, I'll meet you as planned on Thursday at 4:00am Sy.

Cheers

Many have asked what turbo is being used. Can now confirm the new rotated RCM Garrett 30/37 with modified waste gate from 38 to 44mm & 0.82 exhaust housing.

Olly knew I wanted big power Trails and when it came to choosing the ECU I asked him what he thought would be best for my needs. He suggested the M800 together with the full works.

If I decide for bigger power gains in the future (twin mapping / VP Import / NOS / bigger turbo, the M800 will cope with anything that is thrown at it.

I have not seen the software for the Solaris, but I have the software for the M800 & it's totally mad.

Do you mind if I ask how much all of the above cost? I'm thinking about going down the Motec route too but would like to get an idea of price.

Probably twice as much as the Solaris. I sold my M800 with all the extras on it nearly two years ago, and had change left after buying my Solaris.

Nothing wrong with the M800 at all, just the extras are expensive. RCMS use the M800 to good effect in the gobstopper, they know it well, so thats what they recommend and sell.

Good stuff, hope you are back behind the wheel of your car soon.

F1CJE.
... You wont go wrong with it. Anti Lag is cool, but the Launch Control will be better

Davey P..... To have the full works with the M800 will cost you £4K+. plus the map. It may sound expensive but the things you can do with it are amazing.

MadHammer.... good luck tomorrow matey

Had a good laugh today with SleeperSy.

Off to DS Automotives for 3 dyno runs early doors due to being the first car at 8:15am.
1st run: launched off rollers at nearly 600bhp (true)!
2nd run: prep
3rd run: 638 lb/ft boost on dyno maxed at 2.0 bar and flat lined.

Back on trailer, and straight to Santa Pod.

Dialing in on first 3 runs, 4th run 11:003, 5th run rear o/s drive shaft broke.

Back on trailer off to Zen's.
Up on the ramp & drive shaft had snapped both ends. Eureka noticed the rear n/s drive shaft was bent. Paul then winched back into correct position (a good 100mm).

Theory: After the car launched off the dyno we reckon that when they re-secured the car from the back, with the straps put around the drive shafts resulting in the rear n/s one bending.

Back at the Pod, on the 5th run the angle of the n/s drive shaft was so acute that the o/s drive shaft was loaded resulting in the breakage?.
