theres some sweet stuff there that you could probably sell on cage mirrors etc and get some of you cash back from lowering the price of your old car

Well, Im keeping most of the stuff, the dealer is keeping the bucket seat and wing mirrors but the rest of the stuff is staying with the car. Deff gonna keep the cage in. I like it!!
I took her out for the first time today.... holy ****... HOW quick???
It made my 280bhp uk scoob feel like a 950cc fiesta!!!!
Got the backend well out of shape at one point, wasnt expecting that!!! Saying that, the road was a bit wet but went back did the same thing again except with the diff lock on... didnt move an inch!! Well pleased
Anyway, the guy who came with me on the test drive reckons I should enter her in next years TOTB. He said it was much quicker than the other Type R they have in, said it was loads faster than his Supra twin turbo. So, Im going to get dyno'd after the remap and enter next years Scooby Shoot out and see how we get on there!
I forgot the bl00dy digi camera (had a late nite) but took some pics on the birds phone, so I'll get them posted tomorrow when I get home.
Now for the bad news....
I cant pick her up for another 2 weeks, and seeing as my UK one goes tomorrow Im gonna be stuck driving the girlfriends car....a MK2 MR2... BLEUR... Two hole weeks without a scoob... not looking forward to that!
J

Plus all original equipment inc drivers seat and brand new carpet (so the cage can be taken out)
Its a WRC replica at the moment (well...kinda, see pic below) but all the stickers will be removed (they've already started on one side the one you can see) , Im having the standard drivers seat put back in (cos I dont fit the bucket seat, and NO Im not a bloater before anyone makes any wise cracks , its made for a tiny Japanese person), taking the carbon rally mirrors off and the originals put back on, removing the Sparco steering wheel and Prodrive gear shifter and putting the original stuff back on, removing the Group N exhaust and putting the original backbox back on....
Its well mad how much stuff there is with the car, theres all the original STi suspension/air box/bonnet vents/pedals/badges/ theres even a painting of the car in the boot (a professional one), all the orignal brochures/paperwork... spare boost gauge, brake pads plus loads of other good stuff, theres a cd player AND a mini-disc player, massive amp in the boot!!

in all Honesty - this is the ultimate impreza. I ran a 96 WRX import for 3.5 years and loved it. I had to basically give it away when I went to work overseas.
When i came back I had to have this marque - as close to rally car as you can get!! I have had this car in the garage all week long and used to bring it for weekend blasts on the back lanes - what a toy!!
However, 2 weeks ago I wrote off my old golf Gti. I am commuting 500+ miles a week and I dont like having it parked outside a hotel.
I also really want to start doing track days - but I really dont want to be doing this in the type R - it seems to special

Was it a Mk1 golf?
Sorry to hear about that. Bet it must have been a hard decision to make to get rid? I took my new one out for the first time on Saturday, I really cant believe the difference compared to my uk scoob that I just sold.
The only way I can describe it is like going from a donkey on Blackpool beach, to a racing thoroughbred at Ascot!!!! Mental!
But you are staying with a Scoob for a track day toy?

the type R and RA`s are totally different from the 60/40 split imprezas. I know what you mean about the wet - its very easy to get into a tank slapper - dont lift off mid corner LOL. I think they really take some mastering - I havent managed yet.
I tend to have to snap back the steering wheel on the apex and just press that pedal when its pointing the right way!
the golf was an 89 8v - but i had spent lots on it!
I really would like a 95/96 RA and build it into a track car myself - so I could get it on track without having loads of money wrapped into it.
If i cant sell it - I will spend a fortune - full decat,MOTEC/GEMS ECU, big brakes, sparco seats harness`s, etc etc etc

Im sure at that price you should have some interest?
I've paid over the odds for mine but i really wanted one with very few miles on as I tend to pile them on quite quickly.
Gems ECU... tasty! Keep the Type R and put a Gems on, take it to the track and enjoy it. You know it makes sense (well, kind of )
You never know, someone on this section of SN might want to snap it up

Finally...
...got some pictures of my car clean. Looks like most of the cars on this thread but they all look good
If anyone's interested, I know for definite that the rear disks from the UK spec WRX do not fit this model (v6). Although the disk diameter is the same (290mm) the handbrake drum is too small at 170mm. The drum needs to be 190mm

Anybody have Spec C suspension?
Noticed when I got this car, plethora of pink underneath, namely Spec C suspension package
Is this default on V-LTD or has it been put on after?
