Another election will almost certainly mean Corbyn! By the time another election is run, then we'll only have 1 year left before we leave the EU and with a new government its back to square 1 with the negotiations.

What we need is cross party negotiation of Brexit to get the kind of Brexit that suits everyone including the 48%!

I was under the impression that if Corbyn got in he would scrap the brexit idea and keep us in Europe.

The government has not carried out an impact assessment of leaving the EU on the UK economy, Brexit Secretary David Davis has told MPs.

"There's no sort of systematic impact assessment," Mr Davis told the Brexit committee.

He said the government had produced a "sectoral analysis" of different industries but not a "forecast" of what would happen when the UK leaves the EU.


Committee chairman Hilary Benn asked whether impact assessments had been carried into various parts of the economy, listing the automotive, aerospace and financial sectors.

"I think the answer's going to be no to all of them," Mr Davis responded.

Crime and Terrorism go together – that’s why terrorists, Muslim or otherwise are nearly always criminals – I.e. have a criminal past

Indeed both nationalist and unionist terror organisations fronted criminal organisations (smuggling, extortion, robbery, drugs etc)

So one of the inevitable result of a hard border (with differing duties etc) would be a rise in smuggling / crime across the border

This would inevitable be on sectarian lines and would create tension and violence, just look at the tension and violence created by two rival football teams in Scotland !!!!!!

the sublime beauty of the EU (SM/CU) and the GFA was that it gave the nationalists the appearance of no border, yet fulfilled the unionists desire for one

EIRE cannot veto any decision for a border. They do not have the constitutional EU rights.
No one as said there will be a hard border and negotiations continue. The issue was tbat Northern Ireland could retain some form of autonomous rule from the UK but retain and use elements of EU trade and policy. but the DUP want non of it.
The violence is still happening, in fact getting worse so do not be deluded. Gerry Adams, a convicted terrorist, and his chronies had no choice but to end the violence at the time as peace was wanted by the North, South and the international team of negotiators.
And of course the open EU borders are proving to be popular don't you think?
