Track Day tyre size.
Hi guys.
I've got a set of OEM Subaru alloys wrapped in 205/50/16 Bridgestone tyres.
Is 50 profile not TOO high to be use on the track ?
Thank You

Hi there
Not sure if I would run such skinny wheels on the track,if its possible to run wider tyres and lower profile then I would run. This is my personal view on this
Many people prefer run smaller size, but this depends on the wheel alignment and on the brakes what car running
We run only wider wheels on the track and we are prefer them
Maybe someone will come and help you out with this yours question/query

Yeah, this is why I'm asking :-(
As I said these are my spare set and was wondering if will be any good for track ? I prefer lower profile tyres as give less tyre movement and better feel. My daily wheels are 17's wrapped in Falken FK452 but don't really want to kill them on the track yet as have some life left in them :-)
Ok, will try to organise some other tyres then.
Thank You

Hi there
I would go probably with 225/40 R17 or 225/45 R17(although people running too 215/45 or 215/40 without the issue),with those you should be OK on the track,we run as minimal size 245/40 on the track and we are been very happy
Good choice of the tyres can be most important thing, with good tyres you will love the track days, with some tyres you will or can hate the track days
Second option,if you have rubbing issue with those sizes then I would recommend add camber bolts and roll arches
