Anyone able to compare S03's with S02PP's?
#1
Can anyone give me their comments from experience of fitting SO3's after running S02PP's on 16" wheels?
I've got to change tyres in the next few weeks and have been really pleased with the S02PP performance especially after the RE010's originally fitted.
I'm getting quotes locally of £125 a corner for S03's and £95 for Toyo T1-S's which are currently my second choice. So I'm wondering if the S03's are worth the extra £120 for a set especially after some of the comments on Scoobynet about their performance.

Thanks Andy I'll check out their nearest depot. I've now managed to get a quote at £113 fitted from F1 but still a bit much!
Did you have S02's before, if so any comparisons?

Shop around - I only paid £130 a corner for my 18" SO3s!
I used to run S02s on my old MY00 - very nice. Also ran Toyo's and I would have to say there wasn't much in it. On my new car, I've now got S03s - nice tyres slightly harder compound, but excellent grip in the wet and dry. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to go with Toyo's though. To be honest I would have fitted the Toyo's on my new car, it is just that my tyres were sha**ed and the S03s were available straight away.

Just changed from SO2 to SO3 on my STI not 100% sure feels slightly different but I had car retracked at the same time
Overall still very good & I will get SO3 again
As for price I paid £400.81 at the end of March for a set including tracking at Micheldever tyres, just off the M3 near Basingstoke tel 01962 774437
Micheldever tend to be very competitive on all makes of tyres so if you dont go for SO3 may still be worth getting a price on another make

Found out today my tracking could be better & I will get that sorted over the next couple of weeks. However had an interesting chat with somebody who should know & they said the sidewall of the SO3 is not as stiff as the SO2 pp I was running so that may explain some of the difference, but still not bad
mail me direct if you need to know anything else
