MY01 STi wheels on MY99 car?

As I understand it, the new age STi uses +43mm wheels to clear those lovely Brembo calipers correct? So, that will most likely cause rubbing issues on a MY99 Impreza wagon, correct again? If anyone is using these wheels on the old shape Impreza successfully, please let me know.
