yokohama ad08 advan / track tyres?
anyone used these?
currently have R888's for track and road use, but found out there the wrong size, so im considering a set of road tyres, and a set of track only. (i have 2 sets of stock 17s)
but, i have just seen these, at a very reasonable price, has anyone used these?

or you could try a set of full slicks for dry track use, used BTCC like these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DUNLOP-EX-BRIT...item255d9bb5e2 have got to be worth a punt at less than £100, if it's raining just run the road tyres.

A baffled sump is a good idea for any car doing more than the odd track day regardless of tyres, although baffle plate would be a cheaper solution.
Slicks will also increase stresses on the running gear, brakes, clutches, suspension even the bodyshell will all see increased loads compared to treaded tyres.
I suppose the problem with using a road car on the track is its always going to be a compromise, and if you start to change things to suit the track use it becomes less than perfect as a road car, swings and roundabouts I guess.

I'v been running R888s for track & road use, got some AD08s for a change and a bit better grip in the wet, that was 2 months ago. still waiting to get the car back on the road. I don't think they will be as good as R888s on the track, but then wet tracks and wet roads, I think they will come into there own.
Can I ask, how are the R888s the wrong size?

i bought a second hand set of R888's, but the size was 205/40/17 or something like that.
not the same size as a normal tyre, so not sure if i have got the full use from running that style tyre.
will give them yokos a go, for the price, seem fair, and might be ideal solution iv been looking for. i cant bring myself to pay £800+ for a set of tyres that will last 3 or 4000 road miles, let alone a track day or 2.
