Default 8x18 on 2004 WRX

Hi folks,

I've having tein super street coilovers fitted to my 04 WRX next week. I'm also looking to order a set of 8x18 (50mm offset) compomotive mo's to replace my pothole damaged 7.5x18 ultralites (managed to write off 3 in 2months up here in pothole ridden aberdeen!)

Is anyone running 8x18 wheels with coilovers? Before I order the wheels i just wanted to see if anyone knew of any clearance issues or rubbing with 8x18 and 225/40 toyos.

I'm not sure how much the coilovers will drop the car even on the highest setting and i'm worried there might be rubbing. The guy at compomotive seemed to think they'd be ok although he did say they advise using 35 profile rubber.

Just wanted to check on here incase anybody knew of any issues before I make an expensive mistake!

Cheers
Scott

I have 8.5" x 17" +45 offset, 245/40 tyre, dropped on coilovers, no rubbing issues to speak of.

You don't know how relieved I am to hear that mate! Cheers for your post. Since I ordered the wheels yesterday, although I was pretty sure they'd be fine I've still been worrying!

Very tidy scoob btw

Teins and 8x19 OZ needed a tiny adjustment to the rear arches to get 235/35 in on my bug-eye... on their highest setting the car will be around standard ride height, don't go too low as it will ride badly and handle worse.

Show cars excluded.

thanks fella!

You'll not be disappointed with the super streets. Totally transform the car. People say on here that they're too harsh but I don't agree.

Post up a piccie when it's all done !!!!!!!

Cheers Dunx, reckon I'll drop it halfway to start with and play about from there till I'm happy.

Thanks to everyone who replied, I'll fire on a pic when its all done.

I do think they are too harsh for the pot-holed cart tracks round South Leeds....

But on track they are just what I hoped for !

IMHO

18x8.5 on BC Racing coilovers here and no rubbing issues unless on full lock and hit a BIG compression in the road. Recon raising the ride height by 10mm would make it fine
