Thumbs up

I dont know if the offset is the same but AFAIK they fit all pre-MY01 models. With a tyre size of 215/40/17.

Nathan.

Offset is ET55.
They do fit all pre my01 cars but my01's use a slightly different size tyre!!
The tyre most people use is 215/40 17 (as Nathen says)

Proof!!!!!!!!!

Question

Has anyone ran 225/17s on these wheels ?

I'd obviously prefer to run the 225s for the grip and as they come standard on the rims (I was looking to buy a set off a new STi that were unused including new tyres)

I tried GGR but they didn't know anyone that had done it and were unsure if it would rub the arches.

Anyone know if 225s rub or not ? (my car is a 98 Type R if that helps)

Thanks Ron, the wheels look really good with the dark blue but I was wondering specifically about using the 225 tyres rather than having to buy new 215s.

Scoobman, I have actually put 3mm shims on so that the tyres aren't so close to the struts, I guess there's only really on way to find out, I reckon that you might just get away with it, as you'd only be putting an extra 5mm on each dide, (so to speak) although the sidewalls would be slightly higher aswell, so maybe,
What you really need is to find someone who's got a wheel, who's also willing to let you have a tyre fitted to it to try.
Good luck finding one.
I would have thought that if you've got 225's already then you should be able to get away with it. and if you have'ne and you want to use the tyres that the 01's come with, they're 215/45 17's not 225's, and as far as I know they just about fit aswell.

Thanks Ron, with regard the standard tyre size for the new STi rims I got the 225 bit from the Subaru UK website specifications page.

Its a bit difficult to try the wheels being on the Isle of Man and I don't want to risk shipping them so until I find out for sure I'll hold back.
I think the owner has sold the wheels now anyway but I'll go back and confirm the tyre size for the future. I'm sure someone else will be selling their standard rims soon and I really liked the look of them on your car.

Thanks again

Scoobyman, the rims I have are not STI and therefore come with 215's as per the WRX's, granted the STI does come with 225's.
