Hi All

I've just been ringing round to get some prices for the above tyres.
When I rang DemonTweeks the Guy I spoke to seemed to think the Eagles were a good tyre, but would wear out very quickly?
Has anyone had any problems with their F1's wearing out very quickly?,Or is it that he couldn't match the best price I had for them and was just trying to rubbish them and sell me someting more expensive?

P.S. I know tyer wear is very subjetive but were talking in general terms here.

Thanks

Chris

Chris,
I just got a set from http://www.protyre.co.uk the bristol branch, tell them you came through Scoobynet and you'll get a good price. 276 quid for four 215/40 17's!!!! fitted and balanced, or they will ship the,m tp you, and thenyou get a local fitter to do their magic.
Ron.
I hope they don't wear quick, I don't remember anyone saying anything about it!

just rang bristol pro tyre, they had none in stock and quoted me over 300 for 16"

i mentiond that people were quoting sub 300 on scooby net, he said um.. no way sir, cant even get close to that prce?

Secondly they said they would not take credit card over phone, need cheque (take over a week to sort)

Who are you lot speeking to and how are you paying? and what are you paying

i need some rubber this week, but dont want to fork out close to 400 if you are getting them for sub 300

Cheapest I could get from Protyre in Bristol for 215\45\17 was £85 per corner. My local dealer did them for £90 saving me wear and tear and £20 of fuel.

i don't use anything but eagle f1s on my cars but i do agree that they are soft. on my clio 16v they used to last only 13,000 mls and 2 tyres only done 4500 mls before being replaced but i think they were the wrong compound.
i've just put a set on my gti-6 now so it'll be interesting to see how long they last.
the only reason i have them and put up with the low mileage is i've never crashed a car that has had them on! when ever i have a car with pirellis or michelins i always seem to crash it don't no why

you want to talk to John Price at the Bristol branch, they might have had a batch of tyres in and could therefore maybe do some sort of deal, they don't do credit card over the phone due to fraud, but they do if you call in.
John is a user on here, JohnP is his username, his e-mail address is john.price@protyre.co.uk
good luck.

Had F1's on my GTi-6 and Scoob too. Not been on the scoob long so can't comment - but put them on my "6" around 45k miles and were still ok after 63k And I did drive the "6" a bit if you know what I mean!!

Great tyres though

Well the tyres have just arrived.
Don't know who I spoke to but they accepted my CC payment over the phone on Weds?
I spoke to Barry on the Mon when I first rang,he said they were on special offer and had to double check if they could still do them for £276 because they only had 2 in stock.
Any way there here now and I'm well chuffed with the service and price from ProtyreJust hope they'll last.
